Someone's Missing

Someone's missing

Each year, approximately 100 000 abortions take place in Australia. Each year, 100 000 women, willingly or unwillingly, make an intensely personal, emotional and difficult decision.
For many women, abortion has short and long term consequences they didn't expect. Many experience emotions such as

  • regret
  • shame
  • guilt
  • anger
  • depression

Someone's missing

Post-abortion grief is real, irrespective of the various reasons women and their families choose to end a pregnancy. The grief can often last for decades, and many women have expressed their profound regrets in choosing the path that they did.

If you, or someone you know, has someone missing in your heart and life, there is help available. Know that you are not alone, and that healing is possible. It takes time. Many women, like Madeleine, have found healing through counselling, receiving support and sharing their stories. Healing is a journey.
